Take a Look inside the All-Electric Jeep Wagoneer S (2024)

  • 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S interior revealed in first images, previewing Jeep's electric SUV that will arrive this fall.
  • The strictly five-seat model will offer over 600 hp, Jeep has previously revealed, in addition to 0-to-60 mph sprints in around 3.5 seconds.
  • The Wagoneer S, based on Stellantis' STLA Large platform, is expected to feature a battery over 100-kWh that will give it a promised range of 400 miles.

A plush battery-electric Jeep model is on its way later this year, and it's enjoyed a bit of a drawn-out reveal. The model slated to be badged as the Wagoneer S was first glimpsed all the way back in September 2022 during Jeep's electric PR blitz that also revealed the Jeep Recon and Avenger EVs, the latter of which has since gone on sale in Europe.

That Wagoneer S glimpsed in 2022 has turned out to be not quite a concept, but pretty close to the real thing, as Jeep confirmed with fresh images this month.

Now, the automaker has revealed several additional glimpses of the upcoming electric SUV, giving Jeep fans a closer look at what they'll see later this fall.

The most notable of the latest images is a look at the interior and the dash, which will feature no fewer than four screens.

One screen will be positioned centrally at the top of the center stack, while another screen will serve as the instrument cluster for the driver.

But the front seat passenger will also have their own separate screen in what used to be the passenger airbag area in Jeep vehicles a short time ago. And this one will have the ability to display videos, to keep the front passenger adequately infotained.

All versions of the Wagoneer S are certainly expected to be dual-motor models.

Yet another screen will handle the climate controls and other functions that used to be buttons in the not so distant past.

"The Jeep Wagoneer S will also feature a standard dual-pane panoramic sunroof and, expanding the Jeep brand’s exclusive collaboration with McIntosh, will offer a discerningly tuned, segment-exclusive, 19-speaker, premium flagship McIntosh audio system," the automaker says.

Physical buttons aren't going away entirely, but they have migrated to the steering wheel, which now features quite a few of them.

The driver will have a large On/Off button positioned just north of the rotary knob that will control the drivetrain, while a tilt switch will allow you to select the driving modes: Sand, Snow, Eco, Auto, or Sport.

Another interior detail—one that has become almost mandatory on electric models in the past few years—is the ambient lighting stripe that will travel from the doors to the dash, giving the cabin a futuristic, Tron-style look.

When it comes to the exterior design, the latest look at the Wagoneer S underscores why this model, unlike the ICE Wagoneer, will be purely a five-seater.

The rakish angle of the rear hatch, integrated with the D-pillar, will make the cargo compartment too snug for a third row of seats, especially when it comes to headroom. But it will buy the D-pillar a nifty integrated wing.

Jeep hasn't revealed everything about the upcoming Wagoneer S. The exact specs are still a bit of a mystery, with the automaker having promised over 600 hp back in 2022, along with a range of 400 miles and 0-to-60 mph launches in around 3.5 seconds.

The promised 400-mile range estimate suggests a massive battery, well above the 100-kWh mark, because this is bound to be a hefty vehicle. (The STLA Large platform is said to be capable of even more range—believe it or not—with 500 miles at one point having been cited as the ceiling).

A rotary dial will control the drivetrain, while a tilt switch below it will offer five driving modes for different terrain.

Such attributes do not always coexist in one single version of a given model, as we've now witnessed enough times in the EV industry, so it remains to be seen whether a single version of the Wagoneer S will offer all of those numbers.

It is possible that a performance model will offer 600 hp and quick sprints, while another trim will focus on long-distance driving while still delivering off-road performance.

But all versions of the Wagoneer S are certainly expected to be dual-motor models, so don't count on the arrival of a more affordable single-motor variant.

The Wagoneer S will arrive later this fall, with pricing set to be announced closer to the start of sales.

But given some of the specs, it's clear by now this won't be the volume model that will transition many Jeep buyers into EVs because it will be quite pricey, expected to start around $80,000.

The role of the EV volume model will likely fall to the upcoming Jeep Recon also due later this year as a 2025 model, which is expected to be more affordable by some degree, if not an eventual electric Wrangler. The small, electric Jeep Avenger, it seems, will stay in Europe.
