Megan Thee Stallion is truly one of the it-iest It Girls of our generation and we all have no choice but to collectively stan. Like, I simply do not trust you if there aren’t at least three songs of hers you can recite word for word. Oh, and backward.
Megan’s career has been wildly successful ever since her 2018 EP Tina Snow dropped, and it’s truly only been up from there. Pretty sure if Meg earned $1 for every time someone did the “Savage” TikTok dance in 2020, she’d be a billionaire—but honestly, just give it time because her current net worth is im-pres-sive. To date, Megan has over 33.4 million monthly Spotify listeners. On top of that, “WAP” has garnered more than 1 billion streams, and “Savage” has tallied nearly 435 million streams. And yeah, obviously, all those streams have led to a lot of cash. Like, because she (and Cardi!!!) got so much support from their track, Megan announced that they were partnering with Twitter and Cash App to give away $1 million.

She’s back to performing live
Like most artists, Megan’s touring schedule was drastically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown periods. But now that many restrictions have significantly loosened, she is back on the stage. From performing at Coachella for the very first time in April 2022 to literally being on a European tour around that time, Megan is undoubtedly making so much money from being onstage, which is historically where artists made the bulk of their income.

Her record label allegedly screwed her over
Megan’s net worth is hefty (more on that below), but she might’ve had even more if it wasn’t for her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment, which she sued in March 2020. Megan claimed her contract allowed 1501 to “literally do nothing while at the same time taking for themselves the vast majority of [her] income from all sources.”
Rolling Stone checked out Megan’s original 1501 contract (signed February 4, 2018), and apparently, she was given a signing bonus of just $10,000 (sounds like a lot, but it’s really not for this industry!) “as an advance toward future earnings,” and the royalties split was 60-40—with them taking the majority.
Rolling Stone also reported that under the terms of the contract, 1501 Entertainment got 30 percent of “almost all of Megan’s sources of income” and had the exclusive rights to her name/likeness and wanted 30 percent of her $$ for any other endeavors—like TV, film, etc. 1501 Entertainment CEO Carl Crawford accused Megan and her team of using a “strong-arm tactic” so that he would renegotiate her contract, telling Billboard, “You think Jay-Z would have gave her part of her masters on her first deal with Roc Nation? F*ck no. Then she’s getting $100,000 a show and she don’t want to pay up.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, that’d be $30 million—which is not only a lot of money, but a whopping $16 million more than when we last reported on her back in June 2022!!!! Truly loving all of this for Meg, but we know more commas and zeros will be added to that number super soon.
