Why I Love Motorcycle Club Books

I can still remember the first time I picked up a motorcycle club book. Reading about a hot, dominant biker who valued loyalty, brotherhood, and freedom was a rush and hooked me to read even more of this romance book trope.

If you are a fan of motorcycle club books, I’m sure you love them for these same reasons:

Hot Biker Heroes

There’s no question that I love motorcycle club books for their hot biker heroes.

These motorcycle men are not cinnamon roll heroes. They are alpha males who say what they mean and do what they want.

They are dominant inside and outside the bedroom and probably have ample tattoos under their club cut.

Motorcycle Club Brotherhood

I also love motorcycle club books for their focus on the club and the brotherhood displayed among its loyal members.

With the focus on brotherhood, many motorcycle club books feature an awesome cast of characters to love beyond the hero and heroine of the story that you can’t help but fall for.

Luckily, many motorcycle club books are part of amazing motorcycle club romance series so you get to know each motorcycle club member and continue with characters you’ve already grown to love.

Motorcycle Club Book Tropes

You can find a lot of different romance book tropes within motorcycle club books.

Popular romance tropes include:

  • age gap romances,
  • opposites attract romances,
  • wounded heroes,
  • forbidden romances,
  • enemies to lovers,
  • romantic suspense

Who Might Not Like Motorcycle Club Books?

It should be said that motorcycle club books might not be for everyone.

Though not in all, there is a fair share of violent, law-bending, and reckless behavior in these books, as well as sharing, and even cheating, when it comes to their women.

I have a low tolerance for general ridiculousness and of course inexcusable behavior toward women (which is why I couldn’t finish Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde despite it being one of the more popular motorcycle club books– sorry, not sorry!).

If these traits don’t appeal to you – pick your motorcycle club book with care, but I’ve included a few recommendations that don’t include these elements.

What are MC Romance Books?

I get this question a lot – what are MC romance books? In short, it’s simply a shorter description for Motorcycle Club books. 😊

What’s on the List?

This book list gives you all of my favorite motorcycle club books, as well as some of the most popular MC romance books in the genre.

Many of these are the first book in an entire series worth exploring so dive deeper if you enjoy them.

Discover these books below and then share your favorite motorcycle club book in the comments. I can’t wait to hear what it is!

My Favorite Motorcycle Club Books

Motorcycle Man
by Kristen Ashley

Tyra Masters has had enough drama to last a lifetime. Now, she’s back on track and looking forward to her new, quiet life. Until she meets the man of her dreams.

The tattooed, muscled biker is the kind of man she’s always wanted. Unfortunately, he’s also her new boss.

Kane “Tack” Allen has a rule. He doesn’t employ someone he’s slept with. So when he learns he spent last night in bed with his new office manager, he quickly fires Tyra.

Yet when Tyra stands up to him and fights for her job, Tack is intrigued. He tells her she can keep her job on one condition that they keep things professional.

But as things heat up between them, Tack finds that he’ll be the one breaking all the rules.

Tack is absolutely one of my favorite book boyfriends. This man believes in communication and honesty and that made him so incredibly hot (in addition to his dirty talk and skills in the bedroom).

I’ll say there were two things that I did not like about him AT FIRST but you learn more later in the story and then I GOT IT.

I love how he came across as this total alpha male but all along was reading Red, learning her, and understanding when he had to handle her with care. I absolutely loved him as a father too.

Red was ready to bolt one too many times but this man was patient.

Tack is President of the motorcycle club Chaos, but it’s not your typical MC club that may be into stuff that is not so above board which I found refreshing. Instead, they operate a custom garage which was really cool.

This is such a great read, I didn’t want to put it down!

Welcome to the Dark Side
by Giana Darling

I was a good girl. Then, I got cancer. I was a seventeen-year-old paradigm of virtue and I was tired of it.

So, when I finally ran into the man I’d been writing to since he saved my life as a little girl and he offered to show me the dark side of life before I left it for good, I said yes.

Only, I didn’t know that Zeus Garro was the President of The Fallen MC and when you made a deal with a man who is worse than the devil, there was no going back.

I adored this motorcycle club book, but…you really do have to be OK with a big age gap to enjoy this one. Zeus and LouLou first meet when she is just 7 (yes, you read that right) and they have a 19-year age gap.

Age gap romance isn’t always a hit for me, but Giana Darling made a believer out of me with this one and that’s because I really enjoyed her writing.

Some passages (like the one about the MC brother Mute) really just took my breath away.

This is one of those books where you just get a taste of the MC life, so if you don’t want a book heavy on the motorcycle club life and danger you won’t find it.

It’s mostly about Zeus and LouLou’s connection and their forbidden romance since he’s an ex-con motorcycle club President and she’s the daughter of the town mayor. Whew!

Under Locke
by Mariana Zapata

He was my boss, my brother’s friend, a widow, an ex-felon, and a man I’d seen casually with a handful of women.

But he was everything that gripped me, both the good and the bad. Worst case scenario if things turned awkward between us, I could go somewhere else.

After moving to Austin following six months of unemployment back home, Iris Taylor knows she should be glad to have landed a job so quickly – even if the business is owned by a member of the same motorcycle club her estranged father used to belong to.

Except Dex Locke might just be the biggest jerk she’s ever met. He’s rude, impatient and doesn’t know how to tell time.

And the last thing they ever expected was each other.

Under Locke is one of my favorite Mariana Zapata romance books, and is also one of her fantastic, slow burn romances.

This motorcycle club book actually has so many of my favorite romance book tropes, including enemies to lovers and brother’s best friend, which alone made it one of my favorite motorcycle club books that I couldn’t put down. Throw in a really hot tattooed biker and you too will fall for Dex.

I recommend this book if you’re all about the slow burn romance and adore alpha male heroes.

It’s not your typical MC romance, where the story focuses on club life and the debauchery of a biker lifestyle. But, it does also have one more additional romance book trope: the virgin heroine.

Beard in Hiding
by Penny Reid

Diane Donner is craving danger. She’s tired of playing it safe and she knows just the bad boy motorcycle man to proposition for a good time. Problem is, she doesn’t actually know his name.

Jason “Repo” Doe never takes risks. So, when the queen of local commerce walks into his club, looking to get risky and frisky, Jason knows the smartest thing to do is save himself a headache while saving the new divorcee from her worst impulses.

But then one thing leads to another, and the memory of just-one-night doesn’t feel like enough.

I absolutely adored this book by Reid, which is definitely not your typical motorcycle club romance.

Since it fits in her Winston Brothers series, you probably want to read Beard Science first to really come to understand these characters, but then again, you could also just try it as a standalone read as well. It does have spoilers for her Solving for Pie series however.

I loved that these are mature characters, but that doesn’t make them any less interesting, provocative, or hot when it comes to Repo. 😊

While we do get a bit of a look at a motorcycle club world when it comes to Repo’s role and Diane’s son, it’s more an opposite attract story, where a well-known, upstanding heroine falls for the bad boy biker.

I loved that Jason fit the bad boy biker image, and yet there really was so much more under the surface that he only shared with Diane.

I would definitely recommend this one as your first entry into motorcycle club books if you’re unsure about the trope. It’s wonderful.

21 Motorcycle Club Books That Will Really Rev Your Engine (6)

Undeniable
by Madeline Sheehan

Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with bikers in the club lifestyle is all that she knows.

When she’s a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the hot, biker bad-boy of the Hell’s Horsem*n Motorcycle Club.

Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club—but that’s where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love.

Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and danger that could tear them apart.

Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself—a man worthy of love—and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can’t live without.

As I was reading this motorcycle club book, I made a note along the way saying “These people are seriously CRA-ZY!” but OMG I was totally hooked.

I think sometimes motorcycle club books start to all read the same. But this isn’t about a good girl snatching the attention of the MC President who happens to go all in with her- oh no it isn’t.

But, I think that’s what I like about this book. These characters were NOT perfect and at one point I wanted to hit Deuce upside the head for his stupid behavior, but they lived their lives and it was a heck of a ride!

Fair warning – there is ample cheating as well as assault in this one.

Dragon’s Lair
by Chantal Fernando

When I found my boyfriend cheating on me, I did something stupid. Or should I say, someone?

Because of that mistake, I’m now stuck in a world I don’t belong in.

I’m a law student. They don’t follow the law. He’s the vice president of a motorcycle club. I’m a good girl with a strict upbringing. He’s my ex-boyfriend’s brother.

And I’m screwed.

Dragon’s Lair is another great introduction to motorcycle club books if this is a new trope for you.

It’s your typical good girl falls for the bad biker type of MC romance book, but Faye was an awesome, sassy heroine. Sin was definitely an alpha male, but also such a great, caring guy.

This is also one of those motorcycle club books that kicks off a really great series that will follow all of the other brothers that you meet and fall for in this MC romance. This one sets up the other MC boys really nicely that you’ll be hooked!

You’ll also love this book, if you like childhood friends to lovers stories or surprise pregnancy romances. I highly recommend it.

Kincaid
by Marie James

Hero complex? Possessive? Not afraid to speak my mind? I’m all three.

I’m also President of the Cerberus MC, a former Marine, and easy on the eyes with arms made to hold a woman tight. I’m the whole package.

I’m not conceited. I’m convinced, and Emmalyn Mikaelson doesn’t have a clue what she’s gotten herself into by jumping on the back of my bike.

I picked up this motorcycle club book on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. It’s not your typical MC romance and I loved it all the more for it.

That’s because the Cerberus Motorcycle Club is not your typical MC club where members are breaking the law. Instead, its members include former Marines and men who make up a special ops team.

Kincaid and Emmalyn meet at a bar where she’s working and he ends up saving her from an abusive relationship.

While Emmalyn is quite trusting for someone who spent years in an abusive relationship, I adored Kincaid’s patience with her.

You’ll definitely fall for this hot hero and President of the motorcycle club like I did.

If you like it, you’ll have 26 MORE books to read in the series which you can catch in Kindle Unlimited!

Vicious Cycle
by Katie Ashley

Deacon Malloy’s life is dedicated to the Hells Raiders motorcycle club. Tough, hard, and fast with his fists, he serves the group as sergeant at arms.

But his approach to life is thrown for a loop when the five-year-old daughter he never knew existed lands on the club steps.

Alexandra Evans is devoted to all her students—but there’s always been something about Willow Malloy that tugs at her heart.

There’s an aura of sadness about her, a girl in need of all the love Alexandra can give.

When Willow stops coming to school, Alexandra’s search leads to a clubhouse full of bikers, and a father bent on keeping his daughter always within sight.

The moment Deacon sees Alexandra, he has to have her in his bed—and he’s never met a woman yet who couldn’t be persuaded.

No matter how attracted she is to Deacon, Alexandra refuses to be just another conquest. But it’s Deacon himself who could be seduced—into a brighter future for himself, his daughter, and the woman he’s falling for against all odds.

I would say this falls into the “typical MC romance” bucket with an opposites attract love story and some suspense sprinkled in.

Deacon and Alexandra are complete opposites because he is an enforcer for his motorcycle club, and she is a sweet Kindergarten teacher.

I really liked the focus on Deacon’s kid at first but this storyline kind of fades when it became more about Deacon and Alex fighting their attraction.

I like that Deacon didn’t really change for Alex and Alex’s side story was definitely interesting to say the least!

Wildfire
by Chelle Bliss

Tamara Gallo was missing something in life. Looking for adventure, she takes off, searching for a hot biker who can deliver more than a good time.

But once inside the Disciples Compound, she may get more than she bargained for.

The bad biker thought he had everything he wanted. He had his freedom, the open road, and the brotherhood. But after being tasked with protecting an innocent, he realizes he’s missing the most important thing of all.

But can the bossy biker tame the wild child, or will she be too much for him to handle?

Wildfire is the third book in the new steamy MC romance Men of Inked: Heatwave series. If you love a dirty talkin’, tough-as-nails, smooth-as-sin bad boy with tons of heat and a wickedly wild ride, Wildfire will deliver.

Is it possible that I read this motorcycle club book simply because I loved the hot book cover? Yes, it’s possible but it was such a fun, quick read I have no regrets. 😊

I mean LOOK AT THIS COVER!!

I did read the first book in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series which features the next generation of the Gallo family but never read the initial series and it totally worked for me.

You definitely meet more characters who you can read about in other books but I wasn’t lost or felt like I was missing anything reading this one.

I loved it because of the attraction between Mammoth and Tamara. Mammoth is my favorite kind of alpha male and things get hot and heavy with Tamara in their forced proximity.

It’s a fast read and the ending is a bit abrupt but I could overlook that for the great characters.

Move the Sun
by Sara Fanetti

Lilli Accardo has moved to the town of Signal Bend, Missouri, where the citizens have made a devil’s bargain to stay afloat.

There she quickly garners the attention of the whole town, particularly Isaac Lunden, President of the Night Horde Motorcycle Club and de facto protector of the town and its citizens.

When it turns out that Lilli is there under murky circ*mstances, Isaac decides to get close and try to figure out what she’s hiding.

Their chemistry is instantaneous and electric, but each is a potential danger to the other. Action and drama ensue as Isaac and Lilli try to navigate the rocky terrain between trust and threat.

This motorcycle club book has been on my TBR list for quite a while and writing this list is jumping it to the head of the pack!

You should pick this one up to if you’re looking for an MC romance book set in a small town filled with a strong heroine, a hot hero, great suspense and one that’s also pretty steamy romance too.

Incandescent
by River Savage

Phoenix ‘Nix’ Knight thought pulling his club out of the illegal world his Pops got them into was difficult. Until he meets Kadence.

Kadence Turner has no business lusting over a student’s father, especially the president of the Knights Rebels MC.

Nix is crass, obnoxious and dangerously hot and for some reason, Kadence can’t seem to hate him for it.

The bossy biker breaks down her defenses, but unlike the old Kadence, the woman she is today won’t give in without a fight.

The tension is undeniable, the attraction fierce. A man that wants what he wants and a woman that will fight him every step of the way.

This is another popular motorcycle club book and I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet! I’m psyched to dive in because it’s a “different” motorcycle club book in that its members aren’t all heathens living wild and crazy.

Its President is a single dad who happens to fall for his son’s teacher. That’s not necessarily a new storyline but I’m all for it.

I also have a thing for dirty talkers, so I can’t wait to meet Nix!

It Ain’t Me Babe
by Tillie Cole

Many years ago, two children from completely different worlds forged a connection, a fateful connection, an unbreakable bond that would change their lives forever.

Salome knows only one way to live—under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune

Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence—the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery.

A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free.

Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.

River ‘Styx’ Nash knows one thing for certain in life—he was born and bred to wear a cut. Raised in a turbulent world, Styx unexpectedly has the heavy burden of the Hades Hangmen gavel thrust upon him.

Haunted by a crushing speech impediment, Styx quickly learns to deal with his haters.

Styx has one rule in life—never let anyone get too close. It’s a plan that he has stuck to for years, that is, until a young woman is found injured on his lot… a woman who looks uncannily familiar, a woman who clearly does not belong in his world, yet a woman he feels reluctant to let go.

I’m actually surprised that I read this one because it has triggers warnings that I steer clear of (child abuse/assault) but I admit that I was hooked from the author’s note where she talked about her focus on religious studies and how she came to meet real survivors of cults.

Definitely a different angle to this motorcycle club book with the cult focus and even with the MC President’s speech impediment but I loved Styx and Mae’s connection that began as young kids.

If you like it, you’ll want to read the rest of the motorcycle club books in the Hades Hangmen series for the other women’s happily-ever-afters.

Outlaw
by Nicole James

When outlaw biker, Cole Austin sees a young woman handcuffed and being dragged across the yard of the Dead Souls Motorcycle Club’s remote clubhouse, he’s stunned by the realization of just how dark his world has become.

This scene is even more than his twisted soul can stomach.

Compelled to intercede and save her, he has no idea his whole world is about to change. He believes he’s doing the right thing until a secret she’s hiding makes him question if saving her may be the biggest mistake of his life.

The two strike a deal–a deal they may both come to regret. Is there anything he won’t do for her or are there some things he just can’t?

OK, so this book blurb indicates this motorcycle club book starts out pretty intense, but I’m intrigued!

I like books with an intense meet cute where the characters end up meeting again years later. Here’s hoping I like this one!

A Little Bit Wicked
by Melissa Foster

What do a co*cky biker and a businesswoman who has sworn off dating bad boys have in common? According to Chloe Mallery, not much. But she couldn’t be more wrong.

Justin came into the Wicked family after a harsh upbringing by a thieving father. He’s gone through a lot to become a true Wicked, and he’s made them proud.

Now he’s ready to show the woman he loves exactly what type of man he is. But Chloe has worked hard to move past her difficult upbringing, and she’s wary of getting involved with a man who looks like he’s walked right out of it.

When tragedy strikes, will their trying pasts draw them together, or will Justin’s protective nature be too much for Chloe’s independent heart to accept?

I used to live near Cape Cod, so I definitely will check out this motorcycle club book series set on the Cape!

I like that this is about a motorcycle club that’s more like a family but it’s still filled with strong heroes and just as strong heroines.

This MC romance book gives me the vibe that it’ll be a little less dark than more traditional motorcycle club books and if that’s the case, I’m excited to check it out.

Own the Wind
by Kristin Ashley

Tabitha Allen grew up in the thick of the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Her father is Chaos’ leader, and the club has always had her back. But one rider was different from the start.

When Tabby was running wild, Shy Cage was there. When tragedy tore her life apart, he helped her piece it back together. And now, Tabby’s thinking about much more than friendship.

Tabby is everything Shy’s ever wanted, but everything he thinks he can’t have. She’s beautiful, smart, and as his friend’s daughter, untouchable.

Shy never expected more than friendship, so when Tabby indicates she wants more- much more-he feels like the luckiest man alive. But even lucky men can crash and burn.

Kristen Ashley‘s Motorcycle Man was a five-star read for me so you better believe I’m going to pick up the first book in her Chaos Motorcycle Club series. I have high hopes that it’s just as good!

Ashley‘s books are long but well written with great character development. I love motorcycle club books where the heroine is considered off-limits and in this case because her father is the President. Oh, how I love Tack!

Tabby was awesome in Motorcycle Man and I love that Shy has a certain “reputation“ in this one. I’m ready to dive in.

Drifter
by Bella Jewel

They say opposites attract. In my world that isn’t a good thing. I did everything I could to escape the grips of motorcycle club I grew up in when I turned twenty-one.

It wasn’t about fear, or betrayal, or even lack of love. I just needed my own life. I had to know how it felt to stand on my own two feet without their protection.

Then I met Diesel. Mysterious, dark, with eyes that screamed to be understood. From the second I met him, I knew I needed to be in his life.

There’s just one problem – he’s a member of a different motorcycle club. Two things that should never be combined. Yet I can’t stay away.

I need to know who he is and I’ll overcome any obstacle to be in his life. A friendship is born, followed by an epic love.

Our relationship is forbidden. But I’ll do anything to be in his life. Anything.

Drifter is actually the second book in the MC Sinners Next Generation series, but it sounds too good to pass up.

I love opposites attract romance books, and the fact that he’s from a different motorcycle club will make things very interesting for this book!

21 Motorcycle Club Books That Will Really Rev Your Engine (18)

Whiskey Neat
by Lani Lynn Vale

Griffin Storm wasn’t prone to violence, but when someone takes what Griffin holds dear, the world as he knows it is gone.

Retaliation, revenge and rage fuels him. His motorcycle club, The Uncertain Saint’s, do their best to offer support, but Griffin is beyond redemption. He’ll do what he has to do.

He fakes it all until the night he walks into an adult shop for batteries and lays eyes on a woman that will change his life.

Lenore makes him think past tomorrow. Makes him want to see just what the future might bring.

But his life’s a dangerous one built around pain and deception, and he won’t give up the past until he’s done what he promised to do.

Lenore, though, won’t give up on him. She’ll fix him, whether he wants her to or not.

I kind of surprised myself, adding this motorcycle club book to the list given the torment that Griffin is struggling with, but it just sounded too good to pass up.

I love romance books where two broken characters find one another and are able to reconcile their pasts for a future together.

I also like that it’s not your typical motorcycle club book but is one that definitely has the element of romantic suspense.

This motorcycle club is a group oflaw enforcement officers who walk a thin line between upholding the law and wanting to break it. Each has had something tragic happen in their life by criminals who have not paid for their crimes.

Definitely pick it up if you like alpha men and heroes with wounded hearts.

Slow Burn
by Autum Jones Lake

I’m not used to women who say no to me. As president of the Lost Kings Motorcycle Club, women are always eager to jump in my bed. Not Hope.

She’s a lawyer. I’m an outlaw. She’s strong-willed and smart-mouthed. I ruthlessly protect what’s mine.

Hope Kendalismine. Even if she doesn’t know it yet. We have nothing in common. We’re not meant to be. Or are we?

Slow Burn is the first book in the Lost Kings Motorcycle Club series. It pretty much had me hooked since it’s about a married attorney representing an outlaw biker.

I can only imagine how this is going to shake out! I am definitely ready for some spiciness with this one.

21 Motorcycle Club Books That Will Really Rev Your Engine (20)

Storm
by Nina Lavine

Madison Cole’s family is the Storm Motorcycle Club. Her father is the President and her brother is the VP. She grew up surrounded by bikers, crime and violence.

Two years ago she walked away from her family and the world they live in. Her soul was shattered, her heart was broken and she had an addiction she couldn’t shake.

She picked up the pieces and put herself back together. Now her family wants her back.

The club is being threatened and they send a club member to return her home to safety—the one person that could destroy everything she has worked so hard to build.

Jason Reilly has sacrificed a lot for the motorcycle club he calls family. Two years ago he made the biggest sacrifice of all—he gave up the woman he loved for them.

Now he’s being sent to bring her back and he’s conflicted. He thought he was over her but discovers their connection is as strong as ever.

Their love was all-consuming, passionate and fiery. It was also their undoing and he doesn’t know if either of them is strong enough to battle the demons that ripped them apart and find love again.

I’m all about this motorcycle club book for the dirty talker that is Jason! I also have a thing for MC romance books where the heroine is already a part of the motorcycle club world.

In this one, Madison is the daughter of the President and sister of the VP. It’s also another MC romance where time has brought the two characters back together in a big way. Sounds great!

The Devil’s Angels MC Book 1: Gunner
by Lola Wright

Left as an infant, Ava Beaumont has not had an easy life. Being raised by the system has taught her to be independent, hardworking and cautious.

When Ava becomes a victim she uses her inner strength to put it behind her and move forward. Now she lives a good life with the family she has created through adopting pets.

When Ava meets Gunner, she realizes what her life is lacking but does she have the courage to trust a big, rough biker enough to let him into her safe little life?

Being the President of the Devil’s Angels Motorcycle Club was not something Gunner asked to become but through the loss of his dad the job was thrust upon him.

While he loves his club and club brothers wholeheartedly, Gunner wants his club to move in a better direction.

And when Gunner spots bakery owner Ava, he realizes that’s not the only change he wants to make in his life. Nothing worth having is easy to acquire.

I definitely read motorcycle club books for the alpha heroes, but I really adore them for the strong heroines as well. I have a soft spot for bikers who want to take their clubs in a better, more clean direction so I’m excited to meet Gunner.
